In 2024, Magma Aviation, the Innovative Air Cargo Solutions Company, made significant progress. With its strategic hubs in Europe and expansions in Dubai and Dublin, Magma Aviation is well positioned to make significant improvements in operational efficiency and market coverage.
Last year, Magma Aviation signed a perennial contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) for handling cargo ship on Liege Airport (LGG) with the aim of improving capabilities. In addition, the company also added narrow body aircraft to their fleet, which was an important step in diversifying and optimizing their operating abilities. To take advantage of rental opportunities, the company opened a new global headquarters in Dublin. Furthermore, Magma Aviation opened an additional Dubai office to strengthen its commercial presence in the East and gain access to new markets.
“2024 was a very exciting and challenging year for the Magma Aviation. We have drawn up a plan to make the most of the resources we use. It will continue as we grow, but the one thing we have introduced, and what we always keep in mind is to adjust quickly. When I take into account the growth of magma aviation over the years, I think the power was our people. The team in the business is experts in what they do, ”says Peter Kerins, CEO of Magma Aviation.
Last year, the air freight industry increased an increase of 11.3% in the demand compared to 2023, which reached record volumes. Freight capacity increased by 7.4% in 2024 compared to the previous year, with international operations by 9.6%.
With the growth of the market and the strategic ambition of the business to expand, Magma Aviation decided to sign a contract with WFS for cargo handling services at Liege. ‘We needed bandwidth in our handling partner in hatch as we continue with our five -year plan. WFS was the perfect choice, ”Kerins said.
As for Magma Aviation’s new global headquarters in Dublin, the CEO explained: ‘We have established our global services here because Dublin is a global aviation bud. This has enabled us to develop better relationships with rental companies. About 50% of world aircraft are rented out of Ireland. To grow the company’s network, it is essential to strengthen our position here, as new, more efficient aircraft come on the market at long distance. “
Last year, Magma Aviation also set up a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
in support of its increased operations and the growing demand in the Middle East. The decision to open an office in Dubai was an integral part of Magma Aviation’s global expansion strategy.
‘Due to the strategic central location of Dubai, it is a well -linked center from which we can access new markets. This allows us to manage the existing African and Middle Eastern routes, while focusing on expanding our presence in Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent and China, ”Kerins shared.
We look forward to 2025, it is expected that the growth in air freight demand will be moderate, but remain positive, estimated at about 5.8%. The global air freight market is likely to continue to adapt to significant geopolitical shifts and economic conditions, such as changes in oil prices and global trade dynamics. These factors will affect both demand and capacity planning throughout the industry.
This year, the primary purpose of Magma Aviation is to use its extensive capabilities to meet the developing demands of the global air freight market.
According to Kerins, the market conditions for broad -body loads at the end of 2024 did not make the hiring of long -term lease agreements a viable option, and this trend is expected to continue until 2025. While the company aims to secure multiple aircraft, it is also considering medium -sized trucks to support its B747 international flights, with the expansion of the Navy expected against Q3/Q4 2025.
Regarding the developments within the narrow-body network for 2025, Magma Aviation CEO said it was important to note that aircraft with a narrow body needed another sales strategy than aircraft with a long broad body. This is due to the impact of regional variations and positioning costs on competitiveness. While they can compete on certain routes with broad-passenger services, aircraft placement flexibility and a quick response to customer inquiries are key. Quotation and speed prices are essential to maintain a competitive advantage.
Kerin talked about the expansion of the General Sales Agent (GSA) model: “Magma Aviation has always had a GSA model, or a strategic partner model, on our major base routes. We look at partnerships with sales partners in areas we intend to expand our network. These sales partners will become an important part of our sales strategy and will be responsible for the launch of Magma Aviation in markets where we have not yet had a presence. Our commercial team will work hand in hand with these partners. “
As Magma Aviation approaches its 15th anniversary, Peter Kerins notes: “Given Magma
The growth of aviation over the years I believe that our most valuable asset has always been our people. It started with the founders and has been strengthened by Chapman Freeborn over the past few years. Now, with the strength of Avia Solutions Group behind Magma Aviation, the future looks very promising. This is proof of the dedication of our staff and management over the years. “
