Challenges and Opportunities – Air Freight Week

As international supply chains are becoming more and more complicated, the demand for automation, datarivent decision making and seamless logistical activities has never been greater. While digitalization promises improved efficiency and transparency, challenges in integrating new technologies remain in a highly fragmented industry.

Urgency of digitization

The global logistics sector has long struggled with inefficiencies arising from manual data entry, a lack of real-time visibility and outdated infrastructure. Industry leaders agree that the time for digitization is now.

“Logistics has always been a fragmented industry with inefficiencies rooted in manual processes. The key to solving these challenges lies in an end-to-end digital solution that increases visibility, efficiency and decision making, ”says Amit Maheshwari, CEO and founder of Softlink Global.

Some companies have successfully transferred to digital platforms, but many are still struggling with legacy systems that impede seamless operations. Freight exhibitors and cargo handlers must adopt integrated solutions that cover the entire logistical life cycle of acquisition and documentation to customs clearance and delivery of the last kilometer. Despite technological advances, the gorge, a lack of connectivity and real -time accessibility is still a bottleneck.

Kunal Maheshwari, a chief growth official at Softlink Global, emphasizes the void by declaring that “the logistics industry is developing, but many tasks remain out of set processes, which affect operational transparency. Our focus should be on automation, AI-driven analysis and seamless system integration. ”Artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) are increasingly used to optimize supply chains, enabling predictive analysis for better decision making. AI-based shipping tracking, automatic workflow and smart routing help logistics businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency.

“Ai is not just a buzzword; It is a game changer in logistics. By utilizing ML for predictive analysis and real-time decision-making, we can ensure faster, more efficient and cost-effective activities, ”says Kunal Maheshwari. Global push as global trade routes expand, logistical businesses pay attention to emerging markets in Africa, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. These regions offer important opportunities for logistics firms that are willing to invest in digital solutions.

“Kenya is the gateway to Africa, and the potential for logistics expansion in the region is great. With a greater investment in infrastructure and technology, the region is ready for significant growth, ”says Amit Maheshwari. Similarly, the logistics landscape of Central Asia, with countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia, developing increasingly digitalized customs processes and freight management systems. However, regulatory challenges and infrastructure gaps remain barriers to full -scale adoption.

The next decade

While digitalization has made progress, the actual transformation lies in the application of AI, Blockchain and Process Automation. These innovations can significantly improve cargo detection, customs clearance and the global visibility of the supply chain. ‘The challenge is not ai self-it is how we apply it to solve logistical problems. AI can optimize routing, automate documentation and improve the supply chain visibility. Without accurate data, however, the full potential remains unused, ”says Kunal Maheshwari.

Blockchain is another boundary that keeps a promise for safe and transparent trading transactions. Companies experiment with blockchain -based platforms to reduce fraud, improve compliance with the regulatory and improve the total reliability of the supply chain.
