Rolls-Royce is a leading global aircraft car supplier in the civil aviation sector. With distribution centers in the Netherlands, the US and the United Kingdom, the expansion of its UAE Center is aimed at preparing for the opening of the new Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai and the expected increase in air traffic.

The 3000 m² facility, located in Kuehne+Nagel’s existing pivot in Dubai South, underwent extensive overhaul to optimize the fulfillment operations. A specially equipped travel tap with a lifting capacity of 25 tonnes, together with a parallel 64 meter long runway and travel bridge, facilitates the movement of heavy equipment, as well as loading and downloading trucks. This automatic solution increases the safety and security for staff and goods, while improving overall efficiency.

The center will house the entire Rolls-Royce Trent Turbofan family with a high cast, from smaller engines to Trent XWB, Rolls-Royce’s most powerful engine, with a 3-meter fan and a weight of almost 17 tons, as well as parts, units and Nacelle.

During the inauguration ceremony on February 27, 2025, Adrian Cuthell, senior vice president on the wing and logistics at Rolls-Royce, said: ‘The strategic location, reliability and confidence in Kuehne+Nagel’s logistical solutions, along with our long-standing worldwide partnership, was the most important factors to choose our Hub in Dubai.

‘We are excited to see that this facility is designed and fully fits back with Rolls-Royce’s specifications. Our teams worked diligently to ensure that every aspect of the design is carefully adapted to support both the fulfillment and delivery teams that work in the center, as well as the engines themselves, which, despite their size and weight, need the finest handling, ”includes Stephanie Kearney, head of EMEA and global operating standards.

Kuehne+Nagel supports Rolls-Royce in various places, including the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, by delivering adapted logistics solutions that support their aviation logistics needs.
