Extension of cargo activities

One of the most important projects of Oostend Bridge Airport is the development of a new cargo village, a logistics zone with more than 48,000 m² warehouses, built in collaboration with Versluys Logistics. These facilities are designed to meet the growing demand for effective solutions to perishable goods, pharmaceutical products, e-commerce and general cargo. The first warehouse was recently completed.

Sustainable growth

The Ostend Bridge Airport is committed to sustainable growth. Investments are made in the electrification of the vehicle fleet and handling equipment, the construction of the second largest solar park in the country, and the investigation into opportunities with the aircraft supplier to offer sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the short term. In addition, digitalization increases by optimizing the OST cloud platform operating efficiency by optimizing cargo flow and supporting customers to improve their logistics needs.

With the new environmental permit and the introduction of the quota system, the airport can optimize night operations, while the impact on the surrounding community is minimized by allowing quieter and modern aircraft in the night hours.
